Lagos State Undergraduate Scholarship 2022

Under the Lagos State Scholarship Award, Nigeria undergraduate students that got admission or already studying at Lagos State University are welcome to apply for the 2022 award scheme.

This scholarship is available for all kinds of disciplines provided by Lagos University.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Outside the fact that you have to be a citizen of Nigeria before you can apply, there are also other criteria that will be considered when choosing candidates for this Lagos State Undergraduate Scholarship.

• Eligible for Lagos indigenes studying in tertiary institutions across the country
• Under the University of Ibadan candidate must possess a minimum of 4.9 on a 7.0 CGPA scale
• Under the University of Lagos candidate must possess a minimum of 3.5 on a 5.0 CGPA scale
• Under polytechnics and colleges of education candidates must possess a Minimum of 2.8 on a 4.0 CGPA scale.
• All the applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba and a letter of identification from their respective local government.

Documents to Provide for the Scholarship

Here are the documents you’ll need to participate in this Lagos State Undergraduate Scholarship;

• Admission Letter
• School Identity Card or Valid means of school identification
• Letter of identification from Oba
• Letter of identification from Local Government
• SSCE result
• Lagos State Resident Registration Agency(LASRRA) registration card
•  Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months).
• Transcript or Result statement duly signed and stamped by the school stating previous session CGPA results clearly
• Evidence of Consolidated Payment Confirmation Slip

How to Apply for Lagos State Undergraduate Scholarship

• You need to visit scholastica.ng to apply for the scholarship
• You need to submit all documents listed above
• The applicant must make sure all the documents are neatly scanned while uploading. 
• If you’re shortlisted for the Scholarship, you’ll be able to participate in a Computer Based Test conducted by Dragnet Solutions Limited in conjunction with Lagos State Scholarship Board.

When you also qualify for this stage, you’ll be called for an interview.

How to Win the Lagos State Scholarship

Most Nigerians don’t win scholarships not necessarily because they didn’t qualify, but because they did follow the right steps, but here are some guides to winning this scholarship.

• Apply Early: It is normal for students to do things a few days before the deadline, but if you’re among the selected few that will apply for this scholarship on time, you stand a chance of winning it. Because the providers won’t be in a hurry to go through your application and they will see your seriousness too.

• Make sure to submit the right information: Those that are always victims of spelling errors, or unnecessary mistakes are those that are applying during the deadline. Because they will be in a hurry to fill in all the details, but this is one of the things that can disqualify you. Make sure to submit the right information, and if possible go through your details 3 times.

• Go through the requirements: Each scholarship has its eligibility requirements, don’t assume anything, go through all of them and submit anything they need.

• Get a Mentor: Having someone that has already won the scholarship as your coach will give you a very high edge to winning this or any scholarship.

Maintain a Good Grade: Most of these scholarships are renewable, so your good CGPA will determine if the Lagos State Scholarship will award you another scholarship.
