Just like most oil and gas companies in Nigeria, Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Limited is also committed to helping the growth of education in the country. And one of the ways they do is through their annual scholarships.
So the company is inviting Nigerian graduates for their 2022/2023 Post Graduate Scholarship Award Scheme. Their award is in two categories;
- Overseas – For graduate students that want to further their education abroad.
- Local – For graduates that want to further their postgraduate in a recognized Nigerian university

Field of Study for Agip Postgraduate Scholarship
Just like most oil and gas company scholarships in Nigeria, Agip Postgraduate Scholarship also focuses on disciplines that relate to the company, which are;
- Geosciences
- Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Subsea, Electrical/Electronics, Marine, Chemical)
- Petroleum Economics
- Law (Oil and Gas/Petroleum)
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) Postgraduate Scholarship Award scheme, you must;
- Possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Nigerian university.
- Have secured admission into a Nigerian or Overseas university (based on the category being applied for) for a one-year Master’s Degree program in any of the disciplines listed below.
- Not be above 28 years of age by December 31st, 2022.
- Have completed the one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Possess an international passport valid for travel at least one year from September 2022 (applicable to overseas category).
Documents to Provide for the Scholarship
- Applicants should neatly scan and upload all documents we will list shortly to scolastica.ng before starting the application process. Here are the documents;
- Passport photograph (450 × 450 pixels) with white background not more than 3 months old
- Provisional admission letter for post-graduate studies 2022/2023 session into any reputable university – Local/Overseas. This admission letter must be for the course stated on the candidate’s application.
- First Degree Certificate
- NYSC Discharge Certificate
- Valid ID card (Driver’s license, Voter’s card, National Identity card)
- Valid International Passport Data Page for Overseas category only (Valid for travel at least one year from September 2022)
- Birth Certificate from Local government
- NAE Compliance Declaration Form

- Applicants need to label the scanned documents accordingly, to avoid mix-ups during upload.

Agip Postgraduate Scholarship Deadline
The deadline for the NAE scholarship is on 3rd June. If you have missed it, you can still apply the following year, as the scholarship is always available annually.

How to Apply for Agip Scholarship
- To apply for the Agip scholarship, go to https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/naescholarships2022 and click on the “Apply Now” tab.
- Proceed and register if you’ve not done that before at scholastica.
- Verify and activate your account from your email box.
- Return back to the portal and submit your personal details.
- Submit the documents we listed above.
- If you’re applying to study oversea, you can also apply for the local scholarship, it is legal. But it’s illegal, and you’ll be disqualified when you apply for the same category more than once.
- Cross-check all the details you uploaded, whether spelling, documents, or arrangement of names.
- Then click “Apply Now,” to submit your application.

- ONLY Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the aptitude test.
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted with details of the qualifying test via SMS text and Email (Ensure to provide valid email and phone contacts).
- Employees of NAE and other affiliate companies and their dependents are not eligible for this scholarship
- Current and past beneficiaries of similar awards from NAE, other affiliate companies, and agencies are not eligible.

How to Win the Agip Scholarship
Most Postgraduate Nigerians don’t win scholarships not necessarily because they didn’t qualify, but because they did follow the right steps, but here are some guides to winning this scholarship.
- Apply Early: It is normal for students to do things a few days before the deadline, but if you’re among the selected few that will apply for this scholarship on time, you stand a chance of winning it. Because the providers won’t be in a hurry to go through your application and they will see your seriousness too.
- Make sure to submit the right information: Those that are always victims of spelling errors, or unnecessary mistakes are those that are applying during the deadline. Because they will be in a hurry to fill in all the details, but this is one of the things that can disqualify you. Make sure to submit the right information, and if possible go through your details 3 times.
- Go through the requirements: Each scholarship has its eligibility requirements, don’t assume anything, go through all of them and submit anything they need.
- Get a Mentor: Having someone that has already won the scholarship as your coach will give you a very high edge to winning this or any scholarship.
Maintain a Good Grade: Most of these scholarships are renewable, so your good CGPA will determine if the company will award you another scholarship.
